Fever° hat mich begeistert, weil ich die Weboberfläche selber hosten konnte und daher Herr meiner eigenen Daten war. Auch brauchte ich mir über das Synchronisieren von Lese- und Markierungsstati keinen Kopf machen. Auf meinen Desktops habe ich Fever° mittels Fluid eingebunden und auf iPhone und iPad wurde die Installation direkt in Safari aufgerufen. Auf dem iPhone bekommt Fever° durch ein spezielles Stylesheet ein angepasstes Layout, mit dem sich auch recht gut navigieren lässt.

Nur eines hat mir bei Fever° immer gefehlt: das Filtern von Feeds mit Schlagwörtern. Es ist zwar mit Fever° möglich, die vorhandenen Feeds zu durchsuchen, aber weder kann ich diese Suchen abspeichern, noch kann ich durch eine Filterung eine Vorselektion von lesenswerten Feeds erreichen. Fever° verfolgt lediglich in einer spezielle Ansicht, die Absicht, heiß begehrte Themen eine Gewichtung zuzugestehen. Das reicht mir aber nicht.

Von daher verwende ich seit heute Abend wieder NetNewsWire, das mir auf dem Desktop erlaubt, unzählige Filterlisten zu erstellen und auf iPhone und iPad kommt die Reeder-App (iPad-Version/iPhone-Version) zum Einsatz.

This is a quick hack I put together to run MacOS Dashboard Widgets on your desktop, rather than having to separately enter the dashboard to view/manipulate them.
